Music by Walter Wachsmuth (1882–1964)
A Musical Rediscovery of a Forgotten Master of the Late Romantic Period
The concert project “Between Worlds” aims to rediscover the work of composer and violinist Walter Wachsmuth. The program features compositions—some of which have never been published—that offer a fascinating insight into the creative output of an artist who has been unjustly forgotten.
In his music, Walter Wachsmuth combined the soundscape of the late Romantic period with influences from early modernism. His works are characterized by lyrical expressiveness, great melodic beauty, and a close connection to nature.
Performed by Prof. Yuko Hisamoto (piano) & Burghard Tölke (violin)
