At Domgasse 5 is the only surviving apartment of Mozart, where the composer lived in style from 1784 to 1787. The Mozarthaus Vienna presents Mozart’s life and work there on three exhibition floors. A shop and a concert hall complete the offer.

Audio guides are available free of charge for adults in 13 languages (German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Czech, Polish, Slovakian, Hungarian, Russian, Korean, Chinese) and for children aged six to twelve years in eight languages (German, English, French, Italian, Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Russian). Guided tours on Mozart’s life and music adapted to the different interests of groups and school classes are offered for a fee.

The maximum group size is about 25 persons. If the group size exceeds the maximum, it will be divided into smaller groups which can be given simultaneous tours. The 50-minute tours are offered in nine languages (German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Polish, Chinese, Korean) and can also be adapted to the age group or school class.

Mozarthaus Vienna is wheelchair-accessible.

Concert programme

Mozarthaus Vienna has an extensive event programme ranging from concerts and book presentations to symposiums. The concert and event room, also in cooperation with the renowned piano manufacturer Bösendorfer called the Bösendorfer Hall im Mozarthaus Vienna, can be rented for functions, events or celebrations. Exclusive packages such as Museum & Concert are offered for tour operators and groups, and the concerts by renowned chamber music ensembles can also be booked under special conditions – quotas by arrangement.

Temporary exhibitions

Apart from the permanent exhibition, special temporary exhibitions are also organised in Mozarthaus Vienna, which are included in the admission charge.

The annual exhibition 2023 entitled “ Cherubino alla vittoria!" -  Mozart’s Figaro aria in the context of military music“ - an exhibition mounted by the Vienna City Library in cooperation with the Mozarthaus Vienna - explores the so-called military aria at the end of Act One of the opera “Le Nozze di Figaro” (The Marriage of Figaro).
